Globally respected and highly accredited Chef Marcel has been a culinary genius since his early beginnings. At the age of twelve in his hometown of Sudbury he roused the interests of many highly successful restaurateurs. His mentor, Ted danakas has always had high aspirations for Marcel; Marcel was intent on not disappointing him. From the early days in Sudbury he went on to graduate from the culinary program at George Brown College in Toronto. After working at a number of exclusive Toronto restaurants he started a catering company. That parlayed into his first very successful restaurant adventure. As a result of this success, opportunity presented itself from abroad. An Executive Chef position in Bermuda provided the vehicle for his next advance. What followed was the premier dining establishment of this small but wealthy country.

Renowned publications including Bon Appetit and Figaro are a testament to his giftedness and skilled craftsmanship. Passion and creative genius places him in the same company as those he most admires, that of Careme, Escoffier, and Louis Dias. He prides himself on living up to the expectations of his loyal clientele, both local and international. Family brought him back home and Orillia became the chosen destination.
